Two brothers that acutally get along!

I got to photograph two of the nicest brothers ever. They didn't mind sitting beside eachother or anything! We went to Medi Park for our session and the weather was great, except for the horrible wind.

One more monkey jumping on the bed!

Another of my recent sessions was with Mr. Clay. His mom wanted some photos of him in his Christmas jammies, so we started at his house - I fell in love with his room and got some really fun photos of him jumping on the bed. After that, we went to Medi park and got some family photos for their Christmas cards. What beautiful weather we've had this year!

Holy Guacamole, It's Christmas!

Where did the time go? I was posting about Thanksgiving just a few days ago (or so it felt) and now it's just a few days until Christmas. I've been super duper busy with family portrait sessions and a few weddings- I've been really blessed to be thriving in these tough times. Here are a few photos from my recent sessions:
This first session is the Trujillo family. Aunt Hendi wanted some portraits taken of her family with the new arrival! It was a little chilly, so we did our session at the Hilton Homewood Suites hotel and the new Hilton hotel that just opened up next door.

Happy Thanksgiving

I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful start to the holiday season. I have many reasons to be thankful this year. I'm thankful for my wonderful husband and baby daughter, and for having the job of my dreams. I'm also thankful that my toe has healed up enought that I can finally wear both of my shoes!!!! I'm also really grateful to Jeremy Ruiz at Jolz salon for giving me and Randy both much needed haircuts. We were both starting to look a little shaggy. Jeremy and I will be teaming up after the first of the year to do boudoir sessions for Valentines Day. If you're interested in more information, please let me know.

I'm also very thankful for all of you, because it's really an honor for me to be invited to be an observer of your lives and the milestones that you celebrate. There is nothing more wonderful than to see love - the love of a newly married couple, a soon to be mother, or the love of a family. I'm so mushy!

We did our annual family Christmas Card portrait today and I think it's my favorite so far. Z is getting so big - she's really getting into the whole Christmas thing this year, so we're having fun with it. I'll save the final photos for you to see when you receive our card, but here are some outtakes. If you'd like to be on our Christmas Card mailing list, Click Here and complete the information box.

Windflower Seeds

Well, my toe troubles kept me from doing any portriats this weekend, but I did have the opportunity to visit a wonderful group of ladies today. A few months ago a lady named Bonnie Cowley contacted me about speaking to a group of girls called the Windflower Seeds.

It's a teen program that is aimed at building strong, confident young women through Tribal style dance, journal writing and talking circles. Bonnie asked me to come speak to the girls about being a photographer, so I said okay.

My intial thoughts were 1) One of my biggest phobias is public speaking so I'm going to look like a dork in front of these girls. 2)This was like the girl scouts, only a little less merit badgey.
Well, for one thing, this group of girls blew the girl scouts out of the water. I arrived to find the girls dancing to this awesome music. It souned like a mix between techno and middle eastern music. They were awesome and so was the music!

When it was time to talk, we sat in a circle and just chatted really informally, which made me feel sooooo much better. I talked about how I got where I was and what I would suggest to these girls if they were interested in starting their own business.

All in all, I left having a great time, I met some wonderful girls (one of which might be joining me for a few weddings in the near future) and I left with a cd of that awesome music!!!!!!

BTW, These girls are trying to raise funds to purchase costumes in order for them to perform at local venues. After the holidays are finished, I'll be having a portrait weekend where all sitting fees are donated to the Windflower seeds. So, mark your calendars and if you're interested in more information, please visit their website at http://www.windflowerseeds.com/ or give Bonnie Cowley a call at 678-2047

Our new Online Gallery

Hooray! I'm so excited to announce that we have a new online shopping cart for your gallery photos. It is so much better than the ordering system that I've had for the last few years. The new system allows you to view your gallery, put items in your shopping cart and come back later to finish your purchase. Also, if you purchase a digital download of one of your photos, you can instantly download the photo after your payment is processed. No more waiting on me to send you the file at a later time.

You can also create a gift registry (Great for any of you soon to be newlyweds and soon to be Mommies). Your loved ones can go into the registry and add funds for you to use on your gallery photos. They can even send you a gift message when they add the money to your account.

Also, you can send email invitations to family and friends to view your gallery.

When you're visiting the new site, don't forget to visit the Accessories Store. There you can purchase Christmas cards, photo jewelry, ornaments, tshirts and much more.

Most of the new galleries are password protected, so if you need to request the password, just let me know!

Up next, My brand new Blog!!!!
