Nugget and Sweet Tea

I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Lindsay and Ryan , or Nugget and Sweet Tea as they lovingly call eachother, on Saturday 8-9-08. This had to be the funnest group of people that I've ever worked with. I think that a majority of the wedding party are theatre majors (nuff said). The ceremony made me laugh and cry at the same time. When we arrived at the Amarillo Country Club for the reception, there were 4 golf carts waiting for us, so we went for a spin! The evening was more fun than I should have while working - by the way, Lindsay, I have your makeup in my camera bag - I'll be sending to you soon! :)

Lucky Day 8-8-08

I had a truly lucky day on 8-8-08! Well, it didn't start out so lucky, but it ended up beautifully. I was headed to a wedding about 30 miles north of Pampa at Cottonwood Springs Ranch when I drove into a horrible storm. I couldn't see a thing and I was white knuckled gripping the steering wheel. I just prayed that I didn't drive off the road into a ditch. After we passed through White Deer, the storm lightened up - but it was following us. We arrived at our destination to find this horrendus storm not far behind. Of course, our wedding and reception is outdoors, so I was really sweating it. Amazingly, the storm barely scooted by us and it sprinkled lightly as Carrie and Tyson exchanged vows under a beautiful old tree. The rest of the evening was magical!
Here are a few teaser pics - the rest will be up soon!

The Boring Wedding

This wedding was anything but boring! After a whirlwind romance, Austin Boring and Jennifer McComas were wed in a friend's backyard on July 12th. They met and were married within 2 months. This is a very fun loving couple and I had a great time. This was no regular backyard wedding. The couple was married on a clear plexiglass platform over the top of a beautiful swimming pool filled with flower petals and a floating "B". It was a black and white event and their cake was awesome! It was made by the Cake Lady here in Amarillo. The evening was supposed to conclude with a nite of club hopping, but after a slight change of plans, we ended up having a lovely dinner at Hummer's (great burgers by the way). I wish Austin & Jennifer the best of luck with their new family!

Busy Busy Busy

Has it really been that long since I posted last? Good Gravy! I've been a super busy little bee the last few months. I have a HUGE project that I'm working on and hopefully it will be launched in the next month or so. I can't wait to tell all of you about it, but I want to to be a surprise. :)
Once I get that behind me, I should be back to posting regularly. I had an awesome weekend of weddings - some of my favorites from the entire year, and I also got to photograph a couple of sweet baby sisters for the Heart Gallery. I'll be posting pics this evening!

Speaking of Heart Gallery, Good News! A while back I wrote about miss Sadie who is up for adoption. Her portrait was shown all around the panhandle area, and it caught the attention of a loving couple who took her into their home. She is such a sweet little girl and she will make them a wonderful daughter!

It is things like this that make me feel really blessed to get to do what I do for a living!
