Happy Easter

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter. We did. Zoe did awesome hunting easter eggs. She has been practicing by walking around the house, picking up various items and putting them in her purse so I knew she'd be a natural at easter egg hunting. We had our easter on Saturday while the weather was still good. I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday weekend, too!

Lindsay and Ryan

I recently did an engagement session with Lindsay and Ryan. They live about an hour outside of Chicago, but they're getting married in Amarillo in August. We had a great time - they both have a good sense of humor. Here' s their session:

The West Texas Wind Machine

I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely Carly last weekend. She lives in Lubbock and is graduating from Texas Tech in May. We had our shoot at a top secret location (okay, it's not top secret, but I'm not telling where it is- nanny nanny boo boo!) It was soooooper windy that day, but we made the best of it. Sometimes the windblown look works to your advantage

We were on TV!!

We were on TV on Sunday, Woo Hoo! Kvii channel 7 decided to do a story on the Heart Gallery and my promotion to raise funds for the project. It aired on Sunday at 5:30. It was kind of a last minute thing or I would have told you about it earlier, so you could see me stutter on television.

I was a nervous wreck. It's really funny, I can stand in front of a church with 500 guests, but if you ask me to speak in front of a group of 10 people, I feel like I'm going to faint. Being in front of a TV camera gives me the same feeling. I wanted to promote this project, so I did it anyway.

The only way to overcome a fear is to face it head on. Now, hopefully I won't have to face my fear again for a long, long time . . . .

By the way, the promotion going on is:

All portrait sessions from now through the end of April are only a $50 session fee. That fee is donated to the Heart gallery of the High Plains. The heart gallery is a traveling display of portraits of children in need of adoption. So book that portrait session you've been wanting and help a great cause at the same time!

I Heart the Heart Gallery

I just started working with a great group called the Heart Gallery of the High Plains. They help to find loving homes for children in the panhandle area that are currently living in foster care. Local photographers (that's me!) volunteer to photograph the children so that their portraits can be displayed at events in the area. This helps the children have a better chance at getting adopted by a loving family. Once you see these sweet faces, you'll want to just hug them and never let them go.

I had the honor of meeting Tyler and Takoda a few weekends ago. They are brothers, 9 and 10 years old. I also got to photograph Hailey - this beautiful redheaded girl is 11. They are the sweetest kids you'll ever meet.
These portraits are on display at Westgate Mall now through March 21st. They are located in the Center Court, along with portraits from other children that are in desperate need of a home. Please go visit the display, and bring along a friend.

To help raise money for the Heart Gallery, Amber Wallace Photography is donating sitting fees from all portrait sessions from now through the month of April. Any portrait session is just $50, and it will go to the Heart Gallery. Call and book your session today - 806-355-0082!
If you have any questions about the Heart Gallery, or would like to make a direct donation, please call the Potter/Randall Child Welfare board at 806-358-6211

This is Tyler - What a cutie!! He's going to be a Quarterback one day

This is Takoda - He told me that he's part monkey - he can climb like it's nobody's business!

These beautiful blue-green eyes belong to Hailey - She is a beautful girl, inside and out.

Our New Blog - Sort of

Here's our new blog - at least temporarily! We're in the process of having a new blog created to match our groovy new website, but I didn't want that to hold me up from sharing my great news. As you've probably noticed in the past, I stink at blogging! But, I'm going to try my hardest to post at least once or twice a week - even just to say hi.

To celebrate our new website, we've re-instated all photo galleries from the past year and are offering 50% off all print orders up to 11x14 and 25% off of all other print, cd and slideshow purchases. This offer is good through March 31st, 2008.

We've got a lot of great stuff going on right now, so keep checking in every few days to get the scoop on our great promotions and goings on.

Lots of Love,
Amber
